Today, the girls received a great lesson on the value of a dollar. Each of them had been saving birthday and chore money. When went to Target to buy the new outfits for a wedding reception we were going to and they both asked for a pair of sunglasses “the kind Genna and Tracy wear”. Because I’ve already bought them 47,000,000,000 pairs of sunglasses (each) I told them they would have to pay for them with their own money.
I was so proud as I watched them both debate their purchases, count their money and do the math to see how much would be left afterward. Hopefully, after having spent their own hard earned cash they will be slightly more cautious and caring with these sunglasses than they were with the previous 47,000,000,000 pairs they’ve had.
