A couple of weeks ago Roo was asked to be the mascot for our school during International Walk to School Day and she was busting at the seams with excitement.
This morning we drove to City Hall where she suited up to high five, shake hands with and hug her fellow classmates. She even managed to make time to rub elbows with Roeland Park Mayor Joel Marquardt before leading students, teachers and parents on the walk to school.
Before we left City Hall Mayor Marquardt told the kids that the best adventures in life happen on your feet. And I whole-heartedly agree.
Not that I’m biased or anything but I do think Peppy had a little extra pep in her step today.
After the walk to school was complete we kept everyone moving with our first fundraising Walkathon, which was a huge success!
I’m grateful for a school and a community that promotes healthy activities and keeps our kiddos on their feet.
